Paul will be playing at The Tap Sandown as part of his 50/50 cycling tour....he is asking for cyclist to acompany him from the ferry to The Tap on the 19th and from Sandown to the Ferry on the 20th June...details below 'The Paul Heaton 50/50 Tour’ Paul Heaton is set to celebrate his 50th birthday by getting back on his bicycle for his 50:50 tour. He’ll be peddling 2500 miles – 50 miles for each year he’s been on the planet – and supporting local boozers with a string of extra special shows at pubs across the UK and Ireland. After the success of the 2010 Pedals and Pumps Tour, the ex Housemartins and Beautiful South front man has announced a new Spring tour to celebrate the art of cycling, and continue his support of great British & Irish pubs. Paul’s mammoth journey will span 40 days and take in 33 shows. Journeying from Salford in Greater Manchester, Heaton will travel through the Lake District to the North East, and up into the Highlands & Lowlands of Scotland. Performing at some of the finest taverns around, Paul & his band will continue across the Irish Sea to Derry, then down through Southern Ireland, across Wales and into South West England. The tour will culminate in a jaunt across the South coast ending with a show at The Pelton Arms in Greenwich, London. It is a great chance to see Paul in very intimate surroundings playing songs crafted close to our hearts, songs from his extensive back catalogue, and some new ones too. Where better than in your local pub? The end of 2011 saw Paul renew his passion and commitment to the pub industry by taking over the reigns of Salford’s famous The Kings Arms. The pub will also see Paul and his band kick off this fantastic run of dates on Monday May 15th. As with his previous tour, fans are encouraged to cycle to each show, and join Paul on this long and winding route between Monday 15th May and Tuesday 23rd June 2012.
