Cycle the Wight - Safety

Cyclists are reminded that this is a fun event and not a race. Please make sure you pay special attention to the requirements of the Highway and Cycling Code and show consideration to other road users.

The Isle of Wight Council cannot accept responsibility for injury to or losses from any participant.

Please ensure your cycle is roadworthy and ALL participants are advised to wear a CYCLE HELMET.

If for any reason you have to give up during the ride and you do not reach the finish please inform a member of staff at a checkpoint or call: 07970 009989 so that we know you are safe and we don’t have to wait up all night for you to return!

Each Participant agrees and declares as follows:

  • I understand that I am participating in the event entirely at my own risk and without liability on the part of the organiser, organising club, officials or members in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by him/her, howsoever caused.
  • I am satisfied that I am capable of finishing this event within the allotted time, with the necessary skill to complete the course.
