Cycle the Wight - Registration

Register online now for Cycle the Wight 2014

Competitors for the 70 mile route are required to register at one of four start points: Ryde - Smallbrook Stadium, East Cowes – Red Funnel Car Park, Blackgang – Viewpoint Car Park or Yarmouth - Yarmouth Institute.

Competitors for the 50 mile route can start at either: Ryde - Smallbrook Stadium, East Cowes – Red Funnel Car Park, Blackgang – Viewpoint Car Park
 

All start points are open from 9am.  You may find that they are open a little earlier or later, but please remember that the people at the checkpoints are volunteers and can’t be expected to be there at dawn!

 

Those that have pre-entered will have been sent a number and those entering on the day will be issued with one. Please attach your number to your front and register that you are there.


Those that are registering on the day will need to fill out an entry form and queue for you numbers to be allocated.
 

At registration you will be required to pay a fee of £10 in advance or £15 on the day for Cycle the Wight if you have not done so already (cheques should be made payable to the British Heart Foundation).

Cyclists are reminded that this is a fun event and not a race. Please make sure you pay special attention to the requirements of the Highway and Cycling Code and show consideration to other road users. 

 

The Isle of Wight Council cannot accept responsibility for injury to or losses from any participant.

 

Please ensure your cycle is roadworthy and ALL participants are advised to wear a CYCLE HELMET.


Emergency breakdown support will be available between 10:00 and 17:00. The Service is for bikes or riders that are totally unable to continue.  It is for pick-up only, but can transport to nearest checkpoint for minor bike repairs.  A fee may apply.


Each Participant agrees and declares as follows:

- I understand that I am participating in the event entirely at my own risk and without liability on the part of the organiser, organising club, officials or members in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by him/her, howsoever caused.
- I am satisfied that I am capable of finishing this event within the allotted time, with the necessary skill to complete the course.
- I agree to keep to the Highway & Cycling Code and act as a responsible member of this event.

 

 

 

 


If for any reason you have to give up during the ride and you do not reach the finish please inform a member of staff at a checkpoint or call: 07970 009989 so that we know you are safe and we don’t have to wait up all night for you to return!
