Wednesday 21st September - European in Town Without my Car Day

Everyone is encouraged to use a bike rather than take the car to get into work on Wednesday 21st September 2005.  Activities will take place at St Thomas’s Square from 10am to 4pm.  Pick up information on planned routes, guided routes during the festival, or just hire a bike.
September 21st is European In Town Without my Car Day. Every year, road closures and other events are organised in towns and cities across Europe, including London and we are trying to do our bit right here on the Isle of Wight.

By increasing the number of cyclists on the road for the day, we get a glimpse of how much everyone’s quality of life would be improved with less noise and air pollution. The road becomes a lively, convivial spot to spend the day, instead of the usual streams of traffic.
